Gave me my life back 08/04/10
Reviewed by:
Location Not Given
I don't normally write reviews but I had to put the word out on what a HUGE difference Adderall has made in my life. I think the medical community should embrace this treatment as a viable option for treating fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Having said that, it is not a miracle cure - nothing is and I still take one day at a time. But I went from not being able to get out of bed from the overwhelming tiredness, muscle pain and complete despair to finishing a year of Master's school, homeschooling my son and running (before, exercise made me MORE ill) five miles easy.
I have not had to increase dosage, I've been on a year and a half at 10mg 2x daily. If Adderall doesn't work for you (everyone is different), try something else. Keep trying. If your doctor won't listen, find another one.
Side effects are minor (some mood swings and agressiveness which I solved by taking up running) especially compared to the benefits. I can think (brain fog cured), I have energy for most of the day, I can even sleep better (since I can exercise probably) and the pain is finally bearable. Hope this helps.

hurray for energy 01/30/10
Reviewed by:

After many years of feeling tired (and trying everything I could think of to overcome it), a year ago I developed the back pain that was a definitive symptom of fibromylgia. Fortunately for me I was also diagnosed with ADD, which meant that I was given the option of trying Adderall.
The difference is incredible. Instead of feeling trapped in a horrible brain fog, I feel clear-minded and motivated.
I take 25 mg XR. I tried the regular release but found I felt pretty crappy in the evening once it wore off. The XR only gives me a red nose and a bit of anxiety as it wears off. Had previously been on 30 mg which was def too much with a more pronounced anxiety. The dry mouth can be annoying too...but still better than being exhausted!

Expensive but highly effective 06/21/09
Reviewed by:

One of my biggest problems before Adderall was difficulty getting out of bed and feeling like crap no matter how much or little I'd slept. I'd also feel as though I was going to dose off at work several times a day. A feeling of low energy would be prevalent often.
Not only is there the benefit of feeling more energetic but the ability to concentrate increases as well. *This drug is far better under the name brand of Adderall. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE! The generics aren't nearly as good, they tend to make me feel jittery and nervous. Huge cost gap, but it's one I'm willing to suck up!

Seems to aggravate Fibro pain 11/19/08
Reviewed by:
Location Not Given
Like other reviewers, I discovered in my 40s that my fibromyalgia was a combination of fibro and what after a battery of tests has been determined to be lifelong ADHD. Didn't take the Adderall (or the extended version, Vyvanse) for the fibro, but for the ADHD. Unfortunately over the past two months I have noticed a pronounced increase in pain as well as insomnia, and the mental clarity/focus haven't improved enough to compensate for the downside. As a recommendation to others, allergies seem to also factor in to this whole mess (fibromyalgia AND ADHD). I discovered three years ago that I am allergic to GLUTEN/WHEAT. After eliminating it from my diet, my fibro symptoms were eased, and happily the IBS I have suffered since 16 disappeared. I wish the Adderall/Vyvanse had offered similar relief. I am off to try something else...

helps extreme fatigue 06/28/08

only thing I've tried that helps get me out of bed and able to function somewhat normally. Good for energy, mind fog and depression. Tends to help insomnia if not taken too late in the day. Doesn't do much for all the other symptoms and tends to make the anxiety a little worse for me.
Now to find a doctor around here who will believe me when I tell them what works for me and prescribe it without rolling their eyes and throwing the script at me. After years of being told to "get a good psychiatrist" I finally got a diagnosis from a rheumy that told me I had a severe case of fibro. Thing is, he would only give me lyrica, period. Told me to go back to my PCP for pain and other meds. PCP doesn't completely buy the fibro diagnosis. I can't win.

Adderall Changed My Life 06/10/08
Reviewed by:
Ocean Springs, Mississippi, USA
I was going crazy and falling asleep at the wheel while driving my grandson to McDonalds which was very scary. My doctor first prescribed provigil 200 mg twice a day and I have to admit that it gave me the energy to slop falling asleep but did nothing for the fibro fog. But my biggest complaint was the price so I spoke with my doctor about providing me with another medication that didn't cost so much. ADDERALL!!!! Great, from the beginning I had the energy, to feel normal again. But my ability to think ahead, anticipate and avoid problems has dramatically improved. For the first time I can finish reading a book without back tracking. Before Adderall I would begin reading the first few pages and not remembering or understand what I have just read. And then have to go back again and read it over. Now reading has become a joy and a blessing. Also, I no longer experience the anxiety that I always had before I started the adderall, I feel like a different person. I actually have motivation to do something in life now!

Adderall 05/23/08
Reviewed by:

I've had ADD all my life. I didn't start taking Adderall until 4 years ago. At that time, I didn't have a diagnosis of Fibro and myfacia, but knew my pain was real. In the last couple weeks, I've had a couple of really great days, but I'm crashing tonight. I knew it wouldn't last, But there's tomorrow, and the promise of adderall. Tonight, to help sleep, I'll enjoy canibus.

I was given Adderall for ADD Which now I realize is part of the fibro. I don't know if I am or was Hypoglycemic. But I was 210 pounds and ALWAYS hungry. It was and is in a way my miracle med. I could get up, Go out, I was clear headed and alert. And I was loosing weight. 60 pounds or so iv put about 10 of that back on now. I had my first look at what a normal healthy person does and feels. Only now I am taking 30 mg twice a day and another 5 mg once a day. My dry eyes and Mouth are worse then ever and the fog has creeped back in along with the mixed up sentences and words. I smoke way more then I ever did before. Its basicaly man made Speed its an amphetamine and as with any med Every one develops a tolorence. I am now stuck with the fear of slipping back into that hole I lived in for years. Emotionaly terrified of yes ( Being overweight again) Not only that but looseing the function I have gained. My Jobs getting harder. My pain is rising again and I'm terrified because I see myself falling back in that hole and No one seems to care.
